About me
Ben Joslin is the Director of Rochester Public School’s Planetarium at Mayo High School. He grew up loving space, being inspired by Star Trek, and building model rockets and Lego spaceships. He graduated with a degree in science education from the University of Arizona, and has a graduate degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He holds a Tier 4 MN educator license in the fields of life science, physics, chemistry, and earth science, and he has years of experience teaching each topic. He has been teaching science since 2005, and has been the planetarium director since 2022. He teaches about many topics in the planetarium, including: constellations, stellar evolution, planets, geography, Native American sky knowledge, black holes, exoplanets, sight, light, clouds, the universe, etc.. He teaches over 600 planetarium lessons a year to over 19,000 people.
