About me
Dr. Leonardo E. Candelario-Perez (they/them) is a Latinx, queer, bilingual clinical psychologist licensed in Minnesota and the Board President of Castor MN. Dr. Leo brings more than a decade of clinical and community-based experience, including specialized work supporting transgender and intersex health, human sexuality, gender identity, and LGBTQ+ well-being. Their professional experience includes serving as a Senior Associate Consultant in the Transgender and Intersex Specialty Care Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Leo holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fordham University and a PhD from Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They also completed a postdoctoral program in human sexuality and gender at the University of Minnesota’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Health. Through Castor MN, Dr. Leo provides leadership and guidance on program development and delivery, supporting LGBTQ+ connection, psychosocial well-being, resilience, and community transformation.
