About me
John Casper is the communications coordinator for Winona Area Public Schools and a former journalist who brings a practical, people-centered approach to school public relations. As a one-person communications department, he leads districtwide storytelling, family communications, media relations and strategic messaging with a focus on building trust and strengthening community connections.
John is especially passionate about creating a culture of “positive gossip” — the intentional practice of noticing, celebrating and sharing the good things happening in schools. He believes the best school communication starts with people who feel seen, valued and empowered to tell the story of their work.
